Sam Michael – Technical Director Williams F1:
« During this test week, we worked on slick tires and the development of the new aerodynamic regulations for 2009. »
Nico Rosberg – Driver
We did a good job during these tests in Jerez. The last two days were probably the most productive because the conditions were better, thus more conducive to testing.
We have mainly worked on mechanical development for the next season. We have achieved very constructive results, which is a good thing for the team.
We also spent time learning about new aerodynamic elements and slick tires. I completed a large number of laps over the two days without any reliability issues, which is an excellent result for the new parts being developed. Overall, the tests in Jerez have been very positive.
Kazuki Nakajima – Driver:
« It was an interesting test because it was my first experience on the FW30 with slick tires. I hadn’t driven the car for over a month, and it was very pleasant for me to be back in the cockpit.
Unfortunately, we had some technical issues on Tuesday and the weather conditions did not allow me to complete a large number of laps. Despite that, it was still good preparation for my upcoming tests over two days in Jerez next week.
Dani Clos – Test Driver Jerez:
« For me, those three days of testing with the team were really important because I was able to gain a bit more confidence in myself.
The day started with bad weather and, as I was the only driver on the track, it was very difficult to get the right tire temperature. When the track started to dry and the conditions improved, I was able to drive better.
We have covered the necessary distance for the engineers, and the feedback from my trials has been positive. I am happy with the work I have undertaken.
