Honda, a competitive car for a future buyer

The Englishman Ross Brawn explained that the car developed for 2009 is already well advanced and that the continuation of the adventure with a future buyer could prove that the team will be very competitive for next year.

« In this story, there are many tragedies. Obviously, the situation is complicated for our employees and it comes at a delicate time, just before the Christmas holidays, and that’s also why it’s a human tragedy. »

« Then, the problem is that we have to interrupt our car construction and development, and it’s a shame because we really have a fantastic single-seater for the coming year. »

Honda began developing the car for 2009 very early: « During the 2008 season, we spent a lot of time striving to be competitive in 2009. We believe we made a good operation and unfortunately, we may not receive the long-awaited rewards, which is very frustrating. »

Today, Ross Brawn wants to convey the message that the future owner of the team, if there is one, will be investing in a very competitive team and car for the 2009 season.

« I hope we can find someone to save us and that they will be with us to finally receive the rewards and benefits of our work. The car is almost finished, and we are convinced it will be very competitive. It would be a shame not to let it run. »

Ross Brawn remains very positive but above all motivated to want to save his team and be present for the first Grand Prix of next season.
