Takuma Sato, former Super-Aguri and Honda Racing driver, has been recalled for a second test with the Toro Rosso team. The Japanese driver will take a seat in one of the two cars for the Jerez tests in Spain, which will take place from December 8 to 11.
Takuma Sato’s management stated: « Obviously, we see this as a positive step, but nothing is decided yet for the 2009 season ».
With Sébastien Buemi practically assured of his place, there is still one seat available in the team for the 2009 season, however, Sato is a contender among others. Sébastien Bourdais and Rubens Barrichello are also in the running.
Following this testing session in Jerez, the Toro Rosso team is expected to quickly announce its two drivers for the next season.
