Rubens Barrichello won the International Go-Kart Challenge organized by Felipe Massa on Sunday. The event took place over two races. The former Ferrari driver was up against motorsport personalities like his former F1 teammate Michael Schumacher and Jeff Gordon, who has excelled in Nascar in the past.
Barrichello won the first race, beating Renault test driver Lucas di Grassi, while it was Schumacher who firmly held this position just before the checkered flag.
Massa won the second race, but Barrichello’s fifth place secured him the final victory.
Di Grassi, who clinched pole position on Saturday, ultimately finished in second place while Massa is third.
Schumacher, last year’s winner of the event, had to settle for fourth place.
This year, the lineup included several F1 drivers, active or retired, such as Antonio Pizzonia, Tarso Marques, Ricardo Zonta, Luciano Burti, or Luca Badoer.
