Renault recently announced in a press release its intention to auction off pieces of its race car. The project has objectives that are partly charitable but also marketing-related, as the private sale will promote the Renault store and remind the public of the two world championship titles won in 2005 and 2006.
The team with the diamond has set the date of December 3rd for this particularly unique sale, running until December 10th. It will take place on Renault’s online store and will be exclusively reserved for registered members. They will be able to bid online and live with thousands of other fans.
For the occasion, a victorious single-seater of Fernando Alonso will be cut into a thousand pieces. It is an R25, equipped with a V10 engine, one of the most efficient of its time.
The engine itself will be resold in multiple spare parts. Fans of the Renault F1 Team and/or Alonso will then be able to acquire pistons, spark plugs, and other engine parts, but especially pieces of the blue and yellow single-seater. The steering wheel will be put up for sale, as well as the safety harnesses, pedals, wings, and seat of the single-seater.
We will keep you informed of the progress of the session and the prices of the items sold. To register for the sale, simply visit the site by clicking here.
