The Ecclestone couple divorces

The Formula 1 financial magnate Bernie Ecclestone is facing one of the most costly divorces. His wife Slavica confirmed that she had filed for divorce.

According to a statement released on behalf of Mrs. Ecclestone: « Mrs. Slavica Ecclestone has officially filed for divorce. »

« Her lawyer is Liz Vernon. Ms. Ecclestone has requested that her privacy and that of her children be respected.

The fortune of Bernie Ecclestone, married to Slavica since 1985, is estimated at over 2 billion dollars (or 1.6 billion euros). He is one of the largest fortunes in Great Britain.

Ms. Ecclestone can very well ask for a third or half of his fortune, Simon Bethel, a family law specialist, told the BBC.
