Adrian Sutil threatened by Pedro de la Rosa?

Adrian Sutil, Force India driver, wanted to clarify the situation regarding the tests that Pedro de la Rosa is conducting for the Indian team this week in Barcelona. He remains convinced that he will be with the team next year and admits he does not feel threatened by the Spaniard.

The co-owner of Force India, Vijay Mallya, had announced that his 2009 driver lineup would consist of Sutil and Fisichella.

However, after the announcement of the technical collaboration between McLaren-Mercedes and Force India, the Woking team could recommend a driver. Rumors followed one after the other concerning test drivers Pedro de la Rosa and Gary Paffett, or even Mercedes DTM driver Paul di Resta, all of whom could potentially become drivers within the Indian team.

Speculations became even more numerous when de la Rosa was transferred to Force India to complete two of the three days of testing.

Sutil thinks that the presence of the Spaniard is part of a pre-partnership investigation led by McLaren.

« He does not worry me at all. He’s a good guy. He comes from McLaren just to get an idea of the car and for the rest, we’ll see in the coming weeks or months, » commented Sutil.

« I feel confident in myself. The team is satisfied with my performances and I have my contract that protects me. So, I have nothing to fear. »
