Di Montezemolo breaks his television!

Ferrari president Luca di Montezemolo revealed that he was so angry following the drama in the final seconds of the Brazilian Grand Prix, which cost Felipe Massa the world championship, that he broke his television set.

Massa believed for a few seconds that he had snatched the world title at the expense of Lewis Hamilton, but the McLaren driver took fifth place two corners from the checkered flag.

This change resulted in Massa losing the driver’s title by one point. The enormous frustration of Lucas di Montezemolo was taken out on his television set…

« I broke my television, I must tell the truth, » said the Italian to Reuters.

« My daughter who was in the other room was scared to death. Fortunately, we had another television that allowed us to watch the podium ceremony, which I particularly enjoyed. »

Under the cameras of the entire world, a Ferrari mechanic, on the other hand, smashed a window in Felipe Massa’s pit because his disappointment was too great to contain.

Despite his anger, di Montezemolo now admits to being philosophical about the course of events.

« I think that in the history of F1, we have never seen a world championship decided in the last corner of the last lap of the last Grand Prix of the season. And we have never seen a driver cross the finish line as champion before being stripped of his title a few seconds later. »
