Di Grassi will test with Honda in two weeks

The current test driver for Renault, Lucas di Grassi has been invited to participate in the Barcelona tests in mid-November with the Honda Racing team.

The Brazilian will thus join his compatriot Bruno Senna for these tests as the Japanese team is evaluating young drivers for the second race seat still available for 2009.

“We are delighted to offer Lucas Di Grassi these tests with Honda Racing,” said Ross Brawn, the team principal.

This is the ideal opportunity for Lucas to prove his potential after such a strong season in GP2 and his performances as a test driver with ING Renault.

« We are eagerly looking forward to seeing him in action because we have a keen interest in watching him develop.

Di Grassi, 24 years old, will work with the team from November 17 to 19.

« I am very happy about this opportunity to work with Honda Racing and I can’t wait to prove what I’m capable of, » he stated.

« I would like to thank the Renault team for all their support as they are allowing me to experience this opportunity which will greatly contribute to my career.

« The next two weeks will be a very important step in my learning process. I will spend a lot of time at the Honda factory before the test, meeting the engineers to learn as much as possible. »
