A few hours after the end of the Brazilian Grand Prix, Alex Wurz announced that he would stay with Honda in 2009 as a reserve driver.
The 34-year-old Austrian retired from race driving at the end of the 2007 season but returned to the paddocks this year as a test driver. A role for which he is often described as the best in the sport.
« I had already signed the contract including 2009 last year, » stated Wurz for Austrian television.
Honda has not yet announced its driver lineup for 2009, while rumors are rife about the future of Rubens Barrichello, who might be replaced by Bruno Senna.
