Ferrari confirmed that MotoGP champion Valentino Rossi will be testing for them before the end of the year.
The Italian had claimed last weekend in Valencia that he was in talks with the Italian team for a second F1 test session after the one conducted in 2006.
Even though the date has not yet been set, a Ferrari spokesperson confirmed in Brazil that Rossi will test for the Scuderia before the end of the year. These will likely take place on the Mugello track in Fiorano.
Ferrari stated that these tests will not be used to evaluate Rossi’s potential. The Italian simply wants to enjoy this new experience in a Formula 1 car. He has already been in this situation in 2006 when he was considering continuing his career in the top category of motorsport.
