Vijay Mallya, co-owner of the Indian team Force India, stated on Wednesday that he hoped to confirm a technical partnership for the 2009 season.
The fact is that the team based in Silverstone has been in talks for several weeks with McLaren Mercedes about a future collaboration, which is not a surprise to anyone.
Force India is currently powered by Ferrari, but the recent F1 team has expressed concerns about the future package, which includes Scuderia’s KERS.
Furthermore, McLaren is expected to offer additional technical support with collaboration on both the chassis and aerodynamic parts.
« As many media outlets have reported, we are currently seeking a complete package for our 2009 single-seaters. I hope to be able to announce an agreement very soon, » said Mallya on Wednesday.
« I want to ensure my team has the best possible solution for the engine, transmission, and KERS to gain positions on the starting grids and try to secure points that have eluded us so far this season, » he added.
