Ferrari will test Italian F3 drivers

The top three drivers of the Italian Formula 3 season will have the privilege of driving an F2008 at Fiorano next month as part of testing.

Mirko Bortolotti, Edoardo Piscopo, and Salvatore Cicatelli will each have the opportunity to get into the racing seat and head out on track. This day is organized by Ferrari and the ACI-CSAI (the Italian Automobile Sports Association).

The objective of these tests is to evaluate young Italian drivers. This initiative follows last week’s announcement of the young driver program that Ferrari is trying to implement.

Ferrari president Luca di Montezemolo stated: « For every generation, Scuderia Ferrari is the symbol of passion for racing. As for the youth, I hope this initiative can contribute to the training of drivers but also to the regeneration of motorsport in our country. »

Gino Macaluso, president of the ACI-CSAI, added: « One of our declared duties is to promote young drivers. I thank Luca di Montezemolo for showing so much enthusiasm by offering this magnificent experience to three hopefuls of Italian motorsport. »

« It will not only be about fulfilling the dream of driving a Ferrari F1 but truly about having an unforgettable experience and working with a team that is at the pinnacle of Formula 1. »
