The financier of Formula 1, Bernie Ecclestone stated that there was no chance for the Canadian Grand Prix to be reinstated in the 2009 calendar.

The Montreal race is absent from the list published by the FIA last week. Therefore, North America will not be represented in 2009.

Although team directors met today in an effort to save the race, one team stated after the meeting that the idea of a return to Canada in 2009 seemed dead.

As for Ecclestone, he admits quite simply: « No, I don’t think so, » about the same subject.
