Disneyland, top of the list for the 2010 French GP

Disneyland Resort Paris is leading the predictions for France’s return to the F1 calendar in 2010. This information comes from the French federation through its executive director Nicolas Deschaux.

The French Federation of Automobile Sport (FFSA) announced that the 2009 race at Magny-Cours was canceled for economic reasons. Deschaux met this week with organizers from six new sites where Formula 1 could be established.

Disneyland Paris is located about a half-hour drive from the French capital.

Moreover, L’Equipe reports that the four-time F1 world champion and former team owner Alain Prost has strongly supported the project after stating that the future of the French Grand Prix was a matter of national importance.

Deschaux, on the other hand, stated: « The only plan that can be implemented in 2010 is that of Paris Val d’Europe (Disneyland). »

He also stated that the five other sites are serious proposals for the French Grand Prix.
