Sebastien Bourdais urges the Scuderia Toro Rosso management to give him an answer about his future before the end of the season.
After delivering strong performances in recent races, the Frenchman wants more than anything to stay with Toro Rosso next year.
The co-owner of the Italian team, Gerhard Berger, stated that he will decide the 2009 driver line-up after the Brazilian Grand Prix. Bourdais, on the other hand, claims that he won’t be able to wait that long.
If Toro Rosso waits until December to make a decision, the man from Le Mans fears he might be left without racing opportunities for next year if the team were to dismiss him from his services.
« I am a professional driver and I cannot afford to wait again and again. If, in December, the leaders choose someone other than me, I might find myself without a seat in 2009, » he explained.
« For now, I need a decision. Things are a bit more complex than I would like, and unfortunately, I might pay the price a bit later. »
