BMW Motorsport director, Mario Theissen, calmly asserts that his team can win the championships this year, 2008. Kubica finished on the podium again at the last Japanese Grand Prix.
Currently, the Polish driver is 12 points behind Lewis Hamilton in the driver standings. As for BMW-Sauber, they have a 14-point deficit to Ferrari in the constructor’s championship.
« We saw last year what can happen in the final races of the championship. Therefore, we must be ready to take advantage if an opportunity presents itself. »
« We are definitely considered the challengers, but we have produced the best so far, so why wouldn’t that be the case in the last two races? »
Willy Rampf, the technical director of the German team, has promised to do everything possible to try to improve the overall speed of the car for the last two races, while Theissen believes there is nothing more to be done.
« No, there is not much more we can do, » he admitted.
