Vettel gets down to business with Red Bull

Sebastian Vettel will be able to test the RB4 in Jerez, Spain, during the month. It’s a new first step towards his future appointment as a driver for the Red Bull team in 2009.

The German has already experienced this during the Barcelona tests in February when David Coulthard was ill.

However, these tests will take place over two days on September 17 and 18 so that Vettel can start acclimating to this new environment: A new team, the Renault engine, and the electronics he will use in 2009 because he will return to Toro Rosso for the rest of the season.

His future teammate, Mark Webber, said he was happy about the arrival of the German, who is considered a different driver since his solid performance in Valencia.

« He is good, very good, he is a very experienced young driver. Red Bull is finally reaping the benefits of its program for young drivers, which is great for the team, » he stated.

« The Jerez tests will allow him to test the car. It will be interesting to see how he will react to this new single-seater, the engine, and the electronics. »

« Of course, the real comparison between the two of us will begin next February. I am focusing on the current events, we have enough things to do until then because I want to get as many points as possible. »
