Report – Red Bull is not keeping its head above water

And one more difficult weekend for the Red Bull team, which hasn’t scored any points since the French Grand Prix in June. It was not a surprise, as the entire 3 days of racing turned out to be challenging.

No surprise this Sunday then and no safety car, which was the main hope for Webber who finishes in 12th place. His teammate, David Coulthard, is only 17th and last in the race since there were three retirements.

Mark Webber – 12th:

« We were not fast enough. We were somewhat hoping for a safety car intervention during the race to switch to a one-stop strategy, but that didn’t happen. The race was tough, and we have a lot of analysis to do. »

David Coulthard – 17th place:

« I was hit in the first lap at the back of my car. I stayed on but when I tried to overtake a Force India driver, I aborted the maneuver and made contact with a car in front, sorry for that. After this, the car’s balance was very weak. »

Christian Horner – Technical Director:

« A disastrous race. David was involved in an incident on the first lap, which damaged his car, and Mark, who was on a one-stop strategy, was hoping for a safety car that never came. He didn’t have enough pace, especially after his pit stop. It’s the worst race of the year. Congratulations to Sebastian Vettel, who drove very well today. »
