Saturday – Williams is slowly but surely coming back to life!

In a way, it’s a resurrection for the British team Williams-Toyota because for several races, there were no satisfactory results to the credit of the team. Evidence of this is their plunge to 7th place in the constructors’ standings.

Following a third idyllic practice session where Nakajima and Rosberg were in the top four, performance was more moderate in qualifying. The German will start from 9th place while the Japanese driver narrowly misses his first qualification in Q3.

Nico Rosberg – 2nd and 9th:

« Finally, a place in the top ten, so it’s a good result for us. We obviously always want to do better, but it shows that we are going in the right direction. We had a better understanding of things to improve. We made these changes that gave us a more competitive car. We will implement the best strategy for the race because anything is possible. The hope for points in tomorrow’s race is there. »

Kazuki Nakajima – 4th and 11th:

« It was a good qualifying for us because both cars are in the middle of the grid. It’s frustrating to miss out on Q3, but actually, 11th place is not the worst because we can choose our fuel load. Plus, I will start on the clean side of the track. »

Patrick Head – Director of Engineering:

« It is satisfying to see at least one car in Q3 again. Both drivers did a good job. Unfortunately, Kazuki missed Q3 by a small margin. The important thing now is to prepare for the race and ensure our strategy. We are looking forward to this day. »
