Nick Heidfeld stated that he would use simulations and video footage to learn more about the new Valencia street circuit, where the race is taking place this weekend.
The BMW-Sauber driver has not yet taken a seat in a simulator but has watched videos of Formula 3 and GT races that took place on the same circuit earlier this month.
« We don’t have a simulator like other teams, but we have certain documents that allow us to study the speed, braking, and many other things. I will try to obtain images from the Internet, » explained the German.
« I don’t walk on all the circuits, but I do on the new ones and I also try to ride a scooter and a car. »
« All these processes help you a little, they give you a general idea. »
Mark Webber at Red Bull Racing will use a simulator but does not expect it to give him a complete picture of the situation.
« Computers do not take into account bumps and that sort of thing. We know the overall track trajectory, but to get an accurate idea, we have to wait for the first two or three laps. »
