According to the German magazine Auto Motor und Sport, the MP4/23 from the McLaren-Mercedes team benefits today from superior performance thanks to its Mercedes-Benz engine.
The article claims that recent chassis improvements allow the car to operate more efficiently in the air. The fins on the nose of the Hondas and BMW-Saubers since the Hungarian Grand Prix have made no difference.
The Mercedes V8 engine produces about 25 horsepower more than all other 2.4-liter engines on the F1 grid.
