Christian Klien, test and reserve driver for BMW-Sauber, will change his status at the beginning of October for an event taking place as part of the American Le Mans Series (ALMS).
This race will be held at the Road Atlanta circuit in the United States.
Last June, Klien showcased all his endurance racing skills for Peugeot in the legendary 24 Hours of Le Mans. For his debut, the Austrian achieved a podium finish.
He will join the Spaniard Marc Gené and the Frenchman Nicolas Minassian in the United States for this ALMS race scheduled for October 1st to 4th, still for the French car manufacturer.
« I am happy with my performances with Peugeot. I really appreciate our understanding. Every kilometer in a car is important to me, » said Klien.
« I am particularly happy because BMW-Sauber released me especially so that I could participate in the Road Atlanta race since there were test sessions scheduled between the Singapore Grand Prix and the Japan Grand Prix.
« It is a very good opportunity to maintain race sensations that could later prove useful in Formula 1, » concluded Klien.
