The 37-year-old Scot stated that his fiancée, the Frenchwoman Karen Minier, was expecting a baby boy.
The Red Bull driver joked, saying: « He will be under contract with Ferrari in 2028! »
Coulthard insisted that his decision to retire after nearly 250 races and 13 wins has nothing to do with his upcoming fatherhood.
« The baby is expected to arrive after the end of the season and before the next one starts again in 2009. »
