Briatore pockets 11 million dollars

His position as team director at Renault in F1 is not the only source of income for Flavio Briatore…

The British newspaper The Daily Telegraph reports that the Italian recently pocketed over 11 million dollars, or more than 7 million euros, thanks to the broadcasting rights acquired in Spain for Formula 1.

From its UK headquarters, the company Stacourt reports revenues of nearly 2 billion dollars (1,339 million euros) in just over a year.

The majority of Stacourt’s revenue comes from the Spanish broadcaster Telecinco, which pays to broadcast F1.

Briatore obtained a right from his friend and business partner Bernie Ecclestone in 2002.

Since then, thanks to his protégé, the Spaniard Fernando Alonso, and his two titles in 2005 and 2006, there has been a surge in the popularity of the world’s premier motorsport in Spain, which explains this amount.
