Formtech GmbH, a German company specializing in the design and construction of automotive parts, has purchased the fixed assets of the former F1 team Super Aguri.
Formtech, which manufactures parts for the Formula 1 automotive industry with great precision, will use the former F1 facilities of the Japanese team, namely the Leafield Technical Centre.
« Formtech is pleased to be able to take advantage of this unique opportunity, » said Formtech’s CEO, Franz Hilmer.
« With our growth and expansion plans, the Leafield Technical Center will allow us to establish ourselves in an important geographical area for automotive engineering. »
« We will employ a number of people from the former Formula 1 team, Super Aguri. They are experienced in the design and manufacturing of components. We will make good use of this site and the spacious facilities. »
« Another objective is for Formtech to engage with individuals and companies who aspire to manage their own motorsport team. Racing equipment could be purchased through Formtech. »
