The officials of the Valencia street circuit have received FIA homologation, which will allow the European Grand Prix to be held next month.
The dress rehearsal for this Formula 1 event was the organization this weekend of the Spanish F3 and the international GT Series race. Both took place without any issues.
The GP2 duo from Trident Racing, Mike Conway and Ho-Pin Tung, were the first to win a race in a Dodge Viper GT3 on Saturday night during the GT race.
Jaime Alguersuari, for his part, won his first Spanish F3 race on Sunday morning.
This circuit is appreciated by most drivers, although its technical side and the absence of curbs are the subject of some criticism.
The GP2 driver Pastor Maldonado, who has won multiple races in Monaco, said: « It is not an urban track like the ones we are used to seeing; it is a very good track. It is difficult to gain speed, but the circuit managers have done an incredible job. »
Indeed, one of the circuit directors, Jorge Martinez added: « To be honest, I thought we would have more problems, but everything went smoothly. Our biggest fear was safety, but we had no problems, just minor things. »
