Heading to the Hungarian GP for the Renault team

Renault concluded its program at Jerez today with its test driver, Romain Grosjean, who completed 90 laps, bringing an end to a productive week in the south of Spain.

After running on slick tires yesterday, the team returned to the usual grooved tires today to continue its development program. This involved resuming the analysis work on the suspensions to improve the car’s performance in high temperatures. Romain, on his side, continued to familiarize himself with the team, working effectively with the engineers and showing great consistency to finish the day in 4th position.

Tonight, the team achieved the objectives it set for itself and made significant progress in its preparation for the Hungarian Grand Prix, where temperatures could be as high as those encountered this week in Spain.

Romain Grosjean – Test Driver

« I have had better days and I already knew the track. Plus, I’m starting to feel more comfortable in the car. The morning went really well, the conditions were a bit cooler and we completed a large number of laps to find a good chassis balance.

« In the afternoon, we tried other things on the settings to make the car more consistent in the strong heat. These two days have been a good experience for me. I was delighted to work with the team again. »

Christian Silk – Chief Test Engineer

A good day’s work with Romain, who got to grips with the program quickly. His feedback to the engineers was good, and he showed great consistency in his long runs in the morning. Overall, it was another encouraging day for him.

We have worked on settings for the upcoming races while continuing our work on suspension developments, which have given us interesting results. We will analyze them next week at the factory.
