Two weeks ago, Timo Glock was finally rewarded for his work and determination with a fine 4th place at the end of a rollercoaster race.
Success but also sadness as the team has just seen the departure of Ove Andersson, a man to whom Toyota owes a lot. All the more reason for the Japanese team to honor him one last time by having a good French Grand Prix this weekend.
Jarno Trulli – Racing Driver
« Magny-Cours is an exciting circuit. It has a lot of fast chicanes, which I love, but also slow and medium-speed corners, making it a good track. The French fans support me. I hope we can really show them the level of competitiveness of our car and score points.
Timo Glock – Racing Driver
« For me, Magny-Cours is a special and difficult circuit that is not one of my favorites. It was great to finish in fourth place in Canada, especially because it was a good reward for the hard work the whole team has undertaken this year. »
Now that I’ve scored my first points for the team, I’m eager to score more. I believe that our car will be reasonably competitive at Magny-Cours with the added benefit of good tests in Barcelona last week, which work in our favor.
Pascal Vasselon – Technical Director:
Following our result in Canada, we are optimistic for this race and we hope to fight for points again. I love Magny-Cours. It’s really a beautiful place for racing because there are no distractions and no pressure, everything is decided during the race.
« It’s a track that requires high grip to really maximize the suspensions from an aerodynamic point of view. The main concern is to negotiate the chicanes well. »
