Testing – Day 2 – Renault continues its journey with Piquet

Renault conducted today the second of three planned test days at the Circuit de Catalunya, located near Barcelona. The team enjoyed ideal weather conditions, with the initially overcast start gradually turning into warm and sunny weather.

The team was able to make good progress in a comprehensive development program. On this occasion, Nelson Piquet was back behind the wheel of the R28. He spent the day carrying out aerodynamic and chassis evaluations in preparation for the next French Grand Prix, which will take place on June 22 at Magny-Cours.

The Brazilian completed 129 laps today and had a session almost free of any technical problems. He will be back on track tomorrow for the last day of testing, during which the team intends to finalize its technical program.

« The day was very busy and, even though I lost a bit of time before lunch, I managed to accomplish almost the entire planned schedule. We spent the day evaluating new parts that should be used at Magny-Cours next week. Everything went very well. Another day of work awaits us tomorrow and, if all goes as planned, it should allow us to approach the next race well-prepared. »
