The owner of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, Tony George, stated that time was running out for the circuit’s return to the official Formula 1 calendar in 2009.
George is seeking to secure an agreement to sign the return of the Grand Prix next year to celebrate the centenary but claims he has less than two months to finalize his plans.
He stated that he had until August to set something up if he wanted to have time afterwards to prepare for the event.

« They can wait until the month of August, September, October to announce the schedule but that doesn’t work for us, » he continued.
George added that he was working on finding potential sponsors.
There is still a gap to bridge in our finances for everything to be fine.
