Sebastian Vettel thinks it will take two more races to assess how much Scuderia Toro Rosso has progressed with their car.
The team presented its new STR3 for the first time in Monaco and, after some difficult moments during testing as they had to get familiar with the new features, Vettel achieved a very impressive fifth place.
However, the German believes that they need to wait until the Canadian and French Grand Prix for his team to truly realize the gain in competitiveness.
“I was very happy with the pace of the single-seater in Monaco. It was a first with this car,” said Vettel.
The race was very chaotic, making it difficult to assess the car’s performance. We will therefore study this in the upcoming races, and mainly at Magny-Cours.
« The conditions were really difficult, but it’s a good result for us. It was actually about staying on the circuit and not making any mistakes, » he added about the last Monaco Grand Prix.
