Giancarlo Fisichella will participate in his 200th Grand Prix this weekend in Monaco with thoughts of retirement still far from his mind.
The Italian driver, who joined Force India this season after several years with Renault, is determined to stay in F1 for several more years.
When asked if he wanted to continue racing in the future, Fisichella said: « Well yes, for a few more years, I certainly hope so. I still feel strong physically and mentally. »
« But of course we must continue to work, improve, and develop this year and next year. »
Despite his desire to stay in F1 for several seasons, he believes that Rubens Barrichello’s record for the most races contested is probably out of his reach.
“I don’t know. It’s too far away for now. We will see,” he added.
