GP – Hamilton is delighted to see the progress!

Lewis Hamilton was the fastest of the drivers during the second practice session.

The Briton, who finished in second place just a year ago in his first F1 race on the rock, dominated much of the afternoon testing. He then stated that he was thrilled with the exercise with his MP4/23.

« I am simply in love with Monaco. I enjoy every moment I can spend on the track. The car was lively almost immediately, and I was able to present a good pace from the start. »

« As the track evolved over the two practice sessions, we made progress on setup and tire assessment. I spent the first session on the same set of tires. »

There is still a long way to go, we will work hard to continue making progress.

Heikki Kovalainen also showed a high pace with the third fastest time in the morning and the fifth in the afternoon. And although he couldn’t match his teammate, the Finn is confident about his chances in qualifying.

« Towards the end of the second session when I put on a new set of tires, we made some changes that were not as positive as we thought. Moreover, I was not happy with my laps, I am convinced that we will continue to improve during tomorrow morning’s tests. »
