Nick Heidfeld laments a loss of time during Thursday’s practice for the Monaco Grand Prix after being forced to replace his engine.
The F1.08 came to a sudden halt on the track after a sharp loss of power during the first morning session.
Heidfeld managed to complete only 13 laps but enjoyed a session that proved much more productive in the afternoon, bringing the total number of laps to 44 to secure the 11th fastest time.
« Of course, this incident cost us time and data, but we still managed to make several changes to the car for the second session, » he declared.
« It was a general improvement. Given our presence in Monaco, I would say that my car is very manageable. »
His teammate Robert Kubica had no problem and posted the sixth fastest time.
« The two sessions were very productive. We covered a lot of laps. We now need to see how to improve the single-seater for Saturday. »
