FIA President Max Mosley made a brief appearance in the paddocks on Thursday morning but refused to speak to the media.
With this first appearance in the world of Formula 1 since the allegations about his private life by a now-famous magazine, Mosley made a brief appearance in the FIA motorhome for a series of meetings.
He returned to his private offices in Monaco shortly before the start of the first free practice session, refusing to speak to the media who were waiting for him.
Mosley will face a vote of confidence in less than two weeks at an extraordinary conference of the General Assembly in Paris.
In a letter addressed to automobile clubs last week, Mosley warned that the FIA risked losing control of F1 if he was forced to leave his position against his own will.
