Polish driver Robert Kubica is awarded the Bandini Trophy for his impressive career start with BMW-Sauber since 2006. He will drive his Formula 1 car over the 11 kilometers from Faenza to Brisighella, where he will receive the award.
« It is a great honor for me. It’s a real surprise given the rather disappointing season I had in 2007, » said Kubica.
« It’s great that some people believe in me and my abilities. »
« I am particularly happy that this award recognizes my racing performances. I am really looking for my first victory. That would be the cherry on top! »
The former team owner, Peter Sauber, will also be honored with a lifetime achievement award.
