Giancarlo Fisichella says he is still young enough to be in Formula 1, despite the fact that he is preparing for his 200th race with the Monaco Grand Prix next week.
The 35-year-old Italian, who is in a racing seat for the 13th consecutive season, will be the ninth driver to surpass the 200-race mark. He will climb to fifth place before the end of the season.
« I still feel young. I am happy to work in F1 and to be an F1 driver. The only problem is traveling around the world all the time, but apart from that, I continue to enjoy it. Otherwise, I wouldn’t be here, » he confessed.
« I don’t think I’ve changed, but I hope to be a better driver today than I was at the beginning. I’ve learned a lot of things. How to manage a race, how to manage the qualifying session.
Fisichella also maintains that he is happy at Force India after spending a few years with the French team, Renault.
« It was the right decision to make, but a difficult decision, » he added.”
« So far, we have done a fantastic job with Force India, we have made a big step forward, and I am really happy to enjoy it. It is very encouraging. We still have a lot of work to do. »
