The reigning world champion, Kimi Räikkönen, intends to make his mark tomorrow at the Turkish Grand Prix even though, in the end, he is far behind his teammate, Massa, who is on pole.
The championship leader will start from fourth position, behind Felipe Massa and the two McLaren drivers. The Finn was never in the pace of the leading trio.
However, Räikkönen remains calm before the start and maintains hope in his chances of victory.
He also acknowledged a mistake on his part during his second run in Q3 that cost him a better result.
« Of course, I would prefer to be placed a little higher on the grid, but this position certainly does not mean the end of the world, » said Räikkönen.
« What matters is the race with the points that are distributed there. Ferrari is in a good position and this is no surprise to anyone. »
« Of course, there is a question mark regarding fuel charges, and we will not have any answers on this until the first pit stops tomorrow afternoon. »
« I am a bit disappointed but I made some driving mistakes on my second lap in Q3 and I have to accept it, » he explained.
« We can rely on a reliable car. We will try to make the most of it by getting as many points as possible. »
