Ferrari driver Felipe Massa has just left the Grand Prix Drivers’ Association (GPDA), saying he did not like the way the organization was managed.
« I agree with most of the things that are undertaken within the GPDA, but I left because I don’t always like the way the association is managed, » Massa stated in the columns of Gazzetta dello Sport.
The decision by Massa comes only a few days after Jarno Trulli criticized drivers who refused to join the GPDA, stating that they were indifferent to the issue of safety.
« I do not want to force anyone to join us, but all drivers should be responsible enough to understand what is happening and why the GPDA was created, » commented Trulli.
« They are in their car and benefit from everyone’s work and the money everyone has put into play. »
Massa thus joins his teammate Kimi Räikkönen, Lewis Hamilton, and Adrian Sutil from Force India on the list of drivers who are not members of the GPDA.
