Fisichella penalized on the starting grid

Giancarlo Fisichella has just been given a three-place grid penalty for the Turkish Grand Prix as he left the paddocks while the red lights explicitly prohibited it.

Race stewards investigated this incident, which allegedly occurred at the start of the first practice session on the Istanbul circuit as the Force India driver was leaving the pit for an installation lap.

After investigation, the commissioners decided that the Italian will be demoted three places on the grid for Sunday’s race.
