Report – Saturday – No Surprise for Super Aguri

Super-Aguri remains stuck at the back of the grid, and the two cars will start from the 21st and 22nd positions on the starting grid, with Davidson ahead of Sato.

There’s nothing more to say about the morning tests. Super-Aguri is delighted and can be proud to still be present in the race. The team is working as best as it can and is looking to improve particularly on the balance of the SA08.

Takuma Sato – 20th and 22nd:

« I think we made some improvements compared to yesterday. The first and second fast laps in qualifying are getting better and better. But I was surprised in the last stint because there was a change in balance and I had understeer. »

« I could not improve my time as much as I wanted. Overall we improved, it was a good day. »

Anthony Davidson – 21st and 21st:

Today was synonymous with difficulty for everyone on the team. The engineers did an excellent job. I am very proud of everyone for the work we accomplished all week.

The car had a very good balance, as good as one could expect in qualifying. I would like to thank, first of all, my engineer Richard Lane for this superb work during the weekends.

Graham Taylor – Sporting Director:

« It’s actually a very good Saturday for us. The cars showed good reliability and the team worked on the programs that were established. »

« As the qualifying session progressed, Anthony found that his car had a better balance while Takuma found it worse. The team once again showed its determination to always be closer to its rivals. We are all looking forward to tomorrow’s race. »
