Report – Friday – Still in the Top 10 for Red Bull

The Red Bull team once again makes its presence felt for the first practice sessions of this Spanish Grand Prix. The afternoon session was more productive with more laps completed by the drivers. Coulthard and Webber are in the Top 8, and the Australian is even very close to the 5th place.

The Austrian team therefore sets Q3 as their goal, and this seems plausible in light of the previous qualifying sessions…

David Coulthard – 8th and 8th

« We completed a normal program for a Friday. Although we have much more experience due to last week’s testing on the same circuit, it doesn’t matter what you achieve on a test day. And for good reason, the track conditions are constantly changing, so you have to try to find a balance, as always. »

« The tire tests last week gave us some information. However, it is hotter than during the tests, which means the tire properties are different, the humidity is different. Performance is lower on a hot day. »

Mark Webber – 13th and 6th

« It was a good day for us. The fact that we know the layout well must play a part. We are driving with the new parts we tested last week. Everyone is working in the right direction. We had a small problem during the first session but in the afternoon, everything was back to normal and there were no issues. »

We accomplished our program which was mainly focused on race preparation. I am very satisfied with the car and we will continue our work tomorrow morning. I am sure it will be difficult but I believe we can aim to reach Q3 tomorrow afternoon.
