Timo Scheider concludes a well-controlled weekend with a victory in the race at Oschersleben.

The Audi driver was never threatened throughout this race. The safety car, which intervened once, did not disturb the German in any way, even though the gap with Martin Tomczyk, who finished second, considerably reduced in the final laps.

Tomczyk therefore finishes second. In fact, he maintained this position throughout the race but was never in the same rhythm as his Abt Sportsline teammate.

Tom Kristensen, after a penalty, allowed Bruno Spengler and Paul di Resta to finish third and fourth overall in the race. The two Mercedes drivers were unable to keep up with the pace of the Audis.

Oliver Jarvis, meanwhile, lost a lot of time after contact with Jamie Green. The Briton avoids the worst, he is fifth.

He delivered a relentless battle with Mattias Ekstrom and Mike Rockenfeller, which he won. Not without difficulty, since the Mercedes driver then had to fend off Markus Winkelhock, who gained an advantage over his Audi teammates during the pit stop.

Ekstrom, who moved from eighth to fifth place in the opening moments of the race, had a difficult afternoon. The reigning world champion found himself in traffic with Rockenfeller and Green, but the latter managed to overtake the Swede shortly after the second round of pit stops. Ekstrom is thus 8th behind Winkelhock and Rockenfeller.

Alexandre Premat, ninth, put a lot of pressure on the winner of the Hockenheim race but was unable to find an overtaking opportunity.

A collision between Kristensen and Engel allowed Ralf Schumacher to finish in the top 10.

In the standings and after only two races, Audi already has twice as many points as Mercedes (52 against 26). In the drivers’ championship, Timo Scheider is in the lead with 18 points, followed by Tomczyk and Ekstrom.
