Bourdais can blame himself!

Sébastien Bourdais expressed satisfaction with his new STR3, despite an accident during the third day of testing in Barcelona. As a result, the car was partially destroyed.

The Frenchman notes that the new car has potential both in terms of speed and the gearbox. He was able to discover this during the morning session.

« The foundation is very encouraging and I must say that I am pleasantly surprised. Until this accident, the car had no problems, which is a very encouraging point, » commented the man from Le Mans.

The general feeling is good and I immediately felt at ease in the car. Driving is easier because we have taken a big step forward with the aerodynamic package.

The STR3 is similar to the RB4 from Red Bull Racing. Its racing debut is not expected before the Turkish Grand Prix.

All these good points should still be tempered because Bourdais had an accident an hour before the end of the tests this evening. The multiple Champ Car champion lost control of his car and ended up crashing into the safety barriers. The entire left side of the car was heavily damaged.

The Toro Rosso team therefore had to cancel the second part of their tests because the STR3 was too damaged to be repaired on site.
