The Italian Marco Bonanomi won, not without difficulty, the last 2008 race of the GP2 Asian Championship in Dubai.

Pavlovic, for BCN, had taken pole position. Despite a good start, he found himself battling with D’Ambrosio and Bonanomi at the first corner. The three men made contact without too much damage. Nevertheless, it was enough for Pavlovic to retire three corners later. Two laps later, it was D’Ambrosio who hit the Piquet Sport driver under braking. He lost a lot of time and was overtaken by Sébastien Buemi.

Alberto Valerio, Ben Hanley, and Armaan Ebrahim also collided on lap 4, forcing the safety car to enter…

At the restart, Buemi maintained his second position but didn’t manage to challenge Bonanomi until the last three laps of the race, where the battle for first place raged on.

Romain Grosjean, champion, finishes his last race of the championship in the pits after yet another impressive comeback. The Frenchman started 8th before losing 4 places at the start. He fought back up to the 6th position. While trying to overtake Buurman, he went over a curb and spun. His race ended in a wall, albeit at low speed.

With the GP2 Asia concluded, Grosjean as the leader, the classic series will resume in two weeks in Spain.

In the championship, Buemi takes second position while he was battling with Pavlovic, before the latter retired.
