Romain Grosjean secured a 4th pole position in 6 events of the GP2 Asia series. The ART Grand Prix driver, already assured of the title, hopes to finish the season as well as he started it, with a victory. The Frenchman is more than 2 tenths ahead of Bruno Senna.
Grosjean will therefore start first for the first race in Dubai, under high temperatures. He benefited from a bit of luck. Bruno Senna was indeed hindered by Kobayashi during their last fast lap. They nevertheless helped each other as they finished the session in 2nd and 3rd positions.
Bonanomi and Yoshimoto complete the top 5. Petrov, Grosjean’s main challenger just a few days ago, ranks 7th, ahead of Sébastien Buemi and Luca Fillipi. Karun Chandhock is only 13th, far ahead of Jelly, Grosjean’s teammate at ART Grand Prix, who is only 22nd.
