We were still offering discounted tickets for the European Grand Prix yesterday, but the organizers have revealed that all tickets for the inaugural race on the Valencia street circuit have been sold out.
The 112,771 tickets went on sale at the beginning of the month, and only 8,000 were left for sale after the first day.
Nearly 40% of the tickets have been sold from abroad, while the remaining 60% have been purchased in Spain.
Jorge Martinez, chief executive of the project, said he was very satisfied with the ticket sales.
« We knew there was a very high expectation, but honestly, selling all the tickets within 10 days never crossed my mind, » he added.
« Now, we will have to satisfy our customers by offering a number of services like the Formula 1 simulator at Feria Valencia. It’s a great opportunity for young fans who will be able to discover this discipline and maybe even give them ideas for future careers, all at very competitive prices. »
The race will take place on August 24th.
