Paul di Resta believes that Mercedes has not yet shown its true pace during the tests that took place before the start of the season.
The Scottish driver, who will drive a 2008 version car for his second year in the championship, is happy with how his pre-season program went even though Audi had more testing days last month.
« In terms of testing, everything is going very well. Ultimately, I think we haven’t shown our real pace, but when it is found, it won’t be bad, » commented Resta.
« We had a plan that we executed. The new car performs well. »
The F3 Euro Series champion made an impressive debut season in DTM last year in a 2005 Mercedes at Hockenheim. He hopes to repeat the achievement from a year ago.
« After last season’s experience, we hope to repeat the surprise effect we achieved at Hockenheim, » he added.
« I have at my disposal everything I need to perform a satisfactory job. »
