The current world champion, Kimi Räikkönen, stated that he would like to follow the path of his Ferrari predecessor, Michael Schumacher, by trying his hand at Moto GP!
The German, seven-time F1 world champion, who retired at the end of the 2006 season, participated in his first motorcycle race after having tested a Ducati. The event took place in Italy last weekend.
« I have only seen a few photos but I know absolutely nothing about this discipline, » Räikkönen said at the Bahrain Grand Prix when asked if he had seen Schumacher’s race.
« I have never tried motorcycle racing. However, I often do motocross, » added the Finn, who is seeking a second consecutive victory at the Bahrain Grand Prix after the one in Malaysia.
« I would like to try a Moto GP at least once in the future, but we will see later. »
Schumacher finished fourth in his race in the KTM series at Misano where he also set the second-fastest lap.
